Madrid Team Gets Veteran Striker
Rayo Vallecano have reached an agreement to sign former Spain striker Diego Costa, based on information from Radio Marca.
This senior player will return to Spain for the 2022-2023 season after returning home to his other homeland, Brazil.
The presence of this aggressive attacker will strengthen the attacking line of the team made by Andoni Iraola.
Rayo Vallecano is a team based in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
Costa will play with other former Atletico Madrid attackers, namely Radamel Falcao and Sergio Camello, players on loan from Diego Simeone’s team.
Costa had previously played for Vallecano in half of the 2011-2012 season since the winter, on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Next season, namely 2012-2013, Costa and Falcao formed a duo of death who scored a total of 54 goals in all competitions.
At that time, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid won the Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and finished 3rd in the final standings La Liga.
The good achievement was thanks to the great contributions of Costa and Falcao.
Diego Costa has not owned a club since January 2022 because his contract with Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro was terminated.
Rayo Vallecano will announce Costa in the next few hours.
On Saturday (13/08) Spanish time, Rayo Vallecano will face Barcelona in the opening match of the Spanish La Liga.
Unlike Barcelona who are experiencing financial problems, Rayo Vallecano can register Costa as a new player.
The 33-year-old Diego Costa is an aggressive and prolific striker of his generation.
This player has also played for Chelsea in the English League.
One of Costa’s strengths is the ability to put pressure on defenders, grab the ball, then score goals for yourself or pass to other colleagues in front of the opponent’s goal.
